Born on August 23, 1961, in Zhejiang Province, Lu Guang developed a deep passion for photography at a young age.

Lu Guang's photography career began in the 1980s when he started documenting rural life in China. He extensively covered topics such as the consequences of industrialization, environmental pollution, public health issues, and the struggles of marginalized communities.
